“ ..........staying at The Coach House  was more like spending a weekend with good friends, not what I had imagined a B&B to be like at all, absolutely nothing was too much trouble, it was very relaxing and the three generations of my family felt very much at home and had a wonderful time, Thank you so very much" .......................September 2008

The Coach House is situated just outside the ‘old village’ of Uckfield within the Streatfeild family’s former Rocks Estate. The town is a 15 minute walk away and the A22 and A272 are both a short drive. There is open countryside to the north where there are pleasant walks through the Rocks Estate.

The Coach House Bed and Breakfast is the perfect place to stay if you are planning a break away, attending a wedding or function at one of the nearby venues which include Ashdown Park Hotel, Barnsgate Manor Vineyard, Buxted Park, Horsted Place and Newick Park.

The Coach House itself dates back to about 1750 and was originally the coach house to the next door Manor House. It was converted to a home about forty years ago and while extended and extensively modernised, it still retains many of its original features.

Jonathan and Annie Hill are your hosts. They bought the Coach House in 2003 when they returned from living and working in Cape Town. Annie, an Australian by birth, says she has lived in the UK on and off for over thirty winters. She runs
her own Interior Design company from her garden studio. Jonathan is also based at home, running a Business Consultancy.

They decided to open their house to bed and breakfast guests once their two girls had flown the nest. Kathryn and Rebecca appear from time to time but now The Coach House is mainly home to Jonathan, Annie, their dogs, cats, chickens and a number of Koi Carp.

Their aim is very focused on ensuring their guests feel completely at home and enjoy their stay, be it helping to plan visits to local areas of interest, or simply making a business trip away from home as pleasant and stress free as possible. The emphasis is very much on flexibility, the key is to just ask.

The Coach House provides free wireless broadband access to all guests while Jonathan’s office, which is fully equipped with computers, printers, scanners etc, can be made available giving business guests a real home from home support service.
